Laos has hired many experienced foreign coaches, including Vietnamese, to train its athletes for the 24th Southeast Asian Games to be held in Thailand later this year, the National Sports Committee said.
Eight are from Vietnam and are experts in shooting, swimming, diving, volleyball, beach volleyball, wushu, and Karatedo.
Table tennis, football, boxing, pencat silat, and petanque coaches are from China, the Republic of Korea, Russia, Cuba, Indonesia, Mongolia, Japan, and Thailand.
Laos plans to send around 660 officials and athletes to the SEA Games to participate in 24 sports.
It hopes to snatch medals in martial arts and petanque.
