The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) yesterday announced a contribution of more than 14 billion kip (about US$1.5 million) towards clearing unexploded ordnance (UXO) in Laos
The grant from the SDC through the United Nations Development Programme will be shared for UXO and the national clearance agency, UXO Lao.
Switzerland considers the establishment of the National Regulatory Authority in 2006 as a key step towards removing the threat of UXO in Laos , said SDC Deputy Country Director, Mr Remy Duiven.
